I bought a deal on one of the discount sites for a Moroccan Afternoon Tea experience for 2 at Momo restaurant in London for £25 (usually £44). So I finally got around to booking it and went along with a friend.
I loved the décor, it really made me forget I was in London. I especially loved the different coloured lanterns hanging from the ceiling; it added character to the place and the low comfy seating made it so hard to leave!
We were offered tea from an extensive range and I went for the lovely Rooibos with lime blossom & mint tea, whereas my friend went for the 7 citrus fruits green tea which smelled divine!
Our afternoon tea menu included:
- Scones with clotted cream and strawberry & fig jam
- Smoked salmon sandwich with cream cheese
- Moroccan chicken wrap
- Zaalouk & Mechouia on toast
- Cheese briouats
- Lemon cream pain de gêne
- Pistachio macaroon
- Chocolate brownie with chocolate mousse
- Maghrebine pastries
The chicken wrap was my absolute favourite and so tasty! I loved all the savoury parts, the flavours worked really well and it makes me want to try and make them myself. The scones were also delicious along with the jam.
I have to admit that the Moroccan pastries weren’t my favourite though – give me baklava any day! But for the price I paid, I think the whole experience was worth it and I found that I want to try dining in their restaurant section another time.
